A Philippine Delegation had the best finish recent with 3 golds, 3 silvers and 9 bronze the best finish that the Philippines have for this campaign in the Asiad. The Smart Gilas Basketball Team is sixth on the ranking for the basketball event with the PBA Reinforcement Players Paul "Asi" Taulava , Kelly William and Sol Mercado. Our National team had best finish ever since the last finished we had in the 2006 Doha Asiad Games. Our national team made this finish as it's best before the year ends this December. The recent win by Rep. Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao 8th Title win over to Antonio Margarito made inspire to our Philippine Delegation to give their best for the country. In the history of our Philippine Team joining in this SEA Games, Asiad Games and Olympic Games. We get few medal production for the Philippine Team under the previous administration. No wonder what is the problem? hmmm... Maybe need more preparations ever if the for the athletes. Second thing is the training facilities. The previous administrations neither the present guaranteed a budget for the trainings and upgraded the athlete's facilities will include the athlete's allowances for everyday training that could even boost their morale for their perfect performances for these big spectacular sporting event. Most of the sporting officials haven't realize that there are individuals from that can be a potential world champion from the different sporting disciplines that the Philippine contingent can be produced.
